We are on the schedule for bottom Paint!

  • stinamiles

Last night we taped off the entire hull - top and bottom - so that she would be ready for paint this morning. Spraying it made it come out awesome. Adam did a great job.

See the photos on the photo page.

So while the weather has not really been cooperating with us, we continue to cross things off our to do list.

I cleaned and sanded the steering pedestal and today Adam painted it.

I have sanded and cleaned and oiled the teak shelf/cup holder that goes in the cockpit.

Adam has ground out and re-fiber glassed two areas on the stern of the hull.

Today he primed these areas and you would never know that they were an issue to begin with. (See updated photos)

Adam also removed two thru hulls that we don't need. He then plugged them and fiber glassed over them, faired and primed them.

Hopefully tomorrow or Friday he will be painting the hull! If his spray job comes out as good as the pedestal did, we will be very happy!

Once the hull is painted, we have the name ready to go on.

The only things left before she goes back in the water is to install the steering column (cables and chain down below and the pedestal) and rewire the mast to have the lights working and ready to have her put back on.

The boatyard guys are painting the bottom. Then it will be splash day!

We still have some projects - I have much cleaning to do inside. We have some of the deck still to paint, but these things can be done when she's in the water.

Our goal is to have a weekend sail Labor Day weekend. Leave Friday morning and return Sunday afternoon. Can't wait!
