We are painting Nellie! We are painting the whole cabin top, cockpit and deck. Along with the green stripe around the top of the hull.

I met today with the sign company to measure for the lettering of the name going on soon.

Nellie is no longer the ugly duckling in the boatyard!!

Pictures will be updated when the painting is done. Rain is predicted this week and weekend.. so stay tuned.

So I have been able to cross out some items on the To-Do list. Our wonderful boating friends actually gave us 2 140W solar panels and the controller when they upgraded theirs. Thank you!

I have also been slowly gathering some items that I know we will need and use. I have a mat for the cabin. I found a great trash can for the galley. I have some hanging baskets that will very useful for storage. I also ordered some mesh produce bags. Not only can you use them when you go to the store to provision fruit and vegetables so you are not using plastic and creating trash, but you can hang them for other storage uses. I also ordered some plastic waterproof pencil cases (like you used in school) these can hold a variety of items and keep them organized. They are clear and waterproof.

I picked up a rubber shower curtain - can be used as tarp or rain catcher. And a linen shower curtain that can be hung as a shade screen. (color coordinated of course).

I was in the hardware store one day and saw a handle bar bag for a bicycle. That gave me a great idea. I found some that are waterproof, have a clear pouch in the front for your phone and they will attach right to the cockpit railing. Perfect for your eyeglasses, chap stick, or other things you want to keep handy.

I also learned that a stainless steel paper towel holder under the galley sink is a perfect place to hang rolls of trash bags. (We don't have much room under our sink).

I love looking for ideas and shopping for stuff like this. Now I have the task of cleaning the cabin of all the construction debris and tools and then I can get it set up. I will post a video once she is all clean and organized.

Yesterday we got the 3rd coat of primer on the stripe and 2nd coat of primer on the deck and cockpit. What a difference! She is looking goooood! Paint will just make it better. Today Adam is sanding so that next weekend I can get the green paint on the stripe and by then he will be ready to paint the deck and cockpit. I am having technical difficulties getting the pictures from yesterday uploaded. The new hatch and the solar fan are back in. Woo Hoo!
