Lot's of work to do.

If you read my intro, you know that we bought a 1982 27ft Watson Sloop.

Since we bought her last year we have done the following:

Pulled out the old toilet from the head.

Pulled out the black water holding tank

Installed a new Porta Poddy

Installed a solar fan vent

You guessed it! When we got to our slip, we noticed that she had a peculiar smell. Bad smell if you must know.

I have since wiped her down, sprinkled baking soda and now with the solar fan, she is no longer "Smelly Nellie".

Today we removed the main sail and boom. I will be inspecting and mending the sail.

The rope that would allow us to reef the main was pulled into the boom and the pulley inside is broken. This is what Adam is working on today.

If you check out our "To Do" list you will see everything that we need to do before we can go any distance with her. I am sure this list will constantly be changing.

A great night on the water!

We sailed out on Friday afternoon and got up to 6 knots going up the Neuse. We anchored in Upper Broad Creek and had a relaxing dinner...

Go Nellie!

It's been a busy time... she's back in the water! We have the sails back on. Handrails are back on the deck. The inside is almost done...

Green Bottom Girl

Our girl now has new bottom paint. We ended up doing it ourselves, as the boat yard is short handed. Adam has most of the wiring...
