We finally got the steering console off. Two of the bolts holding it just snapped. Guess we are going to need new ones. The plate underneath is rusted... getting a new one of those as well.

Adam cut into the floor, removed all of the wet wood and it is now replaced with new wood and many layers of fiberglass. She will certainly be strong.

Adam finished the new hatch and it looks great. Can't wait to get that back on the boat.

We are excited to start fairing and priming. Then it will really look a bit more finished.

I continue to work on the teak.

So many projects still to do. But the deck and the cockpit were the biggest and hardest.

Pics are posted.

We have the cabin deck all fiber-glassed and ready for sanding.

Adam is now working on getting the console (Steering column) removed so we can replace the cockpit floor.

I inspected the Jib sail and it looks good. No repairs needed.

Adam has cut and routered the acrylic for the new hatch.

I have polished both the clock and the barometer. These will go back in the salon on the new wall. (unfortunately clock unfixable)

The back of the new wall is in and the bead board will be going over it.

So many projects going on at the same time!

Check out the Photos page to see them all.

So, I have updated the homepage and the to do list, as we have decided that Nel Vento is the boat we are going to keep and sail on.

We are almost done re-coring and replacing the top deck. Next is the cock pit floor.

Then it's a lot of sanding, fairing, sanding, priming and more sanding and painting.

Meanwhile down below, we are replacing the wall between the head and the main cabin. We are putting vinyl walls in the head and beadboard on the salon side.

Adam will also be working on the wiring. We need to re-wire the mast and the lights.

We might as well do it all so that we know it is new and safe.

Once she is painted and mast and sails are back on, we can go back in the water.

We are hoping that by the end of the summer we can sail again.
